Well, if an Insider is saying it..
Sorry to hear this.
I liked Kinect Sports but the series has run its course.. all things point to Rare working on something else now which hopefully will be revealed at E3.
I keep my fingers crossed they never do.
Didn't he pick up the Gears licence as well?
All good so far.. roll on E3.
You thought right.
It's a good thing for Microsoft, primarily because you have to keep paying to keep playing the 'free' games now, as has always been the case with PS+.
That was the point I was agreeing with..
Bingo. Old model was too good to last, unfortunately.
I'm just looking at the lists being posted in this thread and going "..yeah, and there's an Xbox counter-example for every one of those".
It's funny how people only see what they want to see.
True.
I saw a mention of Viva Pinata up there.. reminds me it needs a comeback!
Quick look at Metacritic would suggest these are very good games - I haven't played either but I'll check them out.
MS is doing it right.
As a home viewer it doesn't really matter to me whether I'm watching a pre-recorded presentation or a stage show. Might be a bit disappointed if I was going to E3 though.
I doubt they will, even last year Kinect Sports Rivals was announced outside of the main conference so a sequel would likely happen the same way.
Fantasia and D4 will probably be on the show floor so I'll look forward to videos.
But.. you just said..
..ah, never mind.
Cool, the recent previews and videos are looking good so I'm in.
Glad you loved it - you aggressive, would-be bully types need to be kept in your place.
How's your last comment for 'complaining about nothing', by the way? Serious business!
I can't really remember Spyro but I definitely wouldn't class Crash as a collectathon, in fact I would say it's the furthest thing from being one.
For me a collectathon, aside from involving tons of collecting, is a game with pointlessly big, barren stages, fetch quests, stupid mini games that seem different but are actually all the same thing, moves you upgrade for the sole purpose of reaching a new area, NPCs with 'hilarious' dialogue and googly eyes.. b...
Totally agree [with Concertoine], DK64 and Banjo 2 were like the end of an era.. Rare had to reinvent the series in order to bring it back.
Nintendo have done this many times with Mario and with huge success, and while SMG will be hard to top I reckon the 3D games have turned out brilliantly and have an identity of their own.
Nintendo need to work their magic with the no-longer-New Super Mario Bros. series next, but that's another matter..
Must have come to the same conclusion Rare did when making Nuts & Bolts - that the N64-style collectathon platformer is no longer a viable game-type.. because they're crap.
Such contempt for your fellow gamer.
I actually don't recall playing a bunch of reheated, barely one-year-old last-gen games during past console launches, but whatever.
Well of course it was.
Good list overall!
